Công an TP Hà Nội vừa đề nghị xử lý hành chính và thu hồi giấy phép lao động đối với ông Đặng Hoàng Giang, một tác giả và nhà hoạt động xã hội nổi tiếng, do đăng tải các bài viết sai sự thật trên mạng xã hội. Theo kết quả điều tra của Cơ quan an ninh điều tra Công an TP Hà Nội, ông Giang đã sử dụng tài khoản Facebook cá nhân để đăng tải các thông tin không chính xác, gây ảnh hưởng tiêu cực.
Despite the signs of a criminal offense related to abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the lawful rights and interests of organizations, the authorities decided not to prosecute the case criminally. Instead, they proposed that the Hà Nội Department of Culture and Sports handle the situation according to the regulations outlined in Government Decree No. 15/2020/NĐ-CP. Additionally, the investigating agency recommended that the Ministry of Home Affairs revoke Mr. Giang’s work permit following the guidelines set forth in Government Decree No. 152/2020/NĐ-CP.
The incident originated from Mr. Giang’s posts accusing Nguyen Nhat Anh, the former General Director of Nhan Nam Culture and Communication Company, of sexually harassing subordinates. Earlier in April 2024, Mr. Giang announced the termination of his collaboration with the company. A representative of Nhan Nam confirmed that they had stopped working with Mr. Giang since April 15, 2024, and respected his decision.
It’s worth noting that Mr. Giang’s actions, although deemed as spreading false information, highlight the complexities surrounding freedom of expression and the responsible use of social media platforms in Việt Nam. The proposed administrative sanctions and the recommendation to revoke his work permit underscore the regulatory measures in place to manage and mitigate the impact of online content.
